This is an obscure Linux Format in-joke that we believe is understood only by the core members of [[Team LXF]]. Back when [[Mandrake]] merged with [[Conectiva]], we asked Gael Duval (founder of Mandrake) where the name came from and whether he would miss it once the company changed its name to [[Mandriva]]. One of the things he said in his email was that he chose the name "Mandrake" because it sounded a bit like [[Red Hat]]. If Mandrake sounds like Red Hat, then clearly ''any'' distro name sounds like Red Hat, and so the joke (such as it is) continues...
