I was just using the computer when Evolution locked up and was using a massive amount of CPU time. I managed to close by using 'kill'. It wouldn't then reload Evolution so I tried closing the session and logging in again. But I now can't log-in to KDE. I either get an error message :

Code:
Call to 1nusertemp failed (Temporary directories full?). Check your installation.

or another error message about dcopserver

Code:
There was an error setting up inter-process communications for KDE. The message returned by the system was: Could not open network socket.
Please check that the "dcopserver" program is running.

Any idea what should I do now? I've tried switching off completely then turning on again with the same result.

Mike

Thanks Rhakios
From the link you gave there is a further link to http://www.pclinuxos.com/index.php?o...c=23065.0;wap2
From this I found that I had lost ownership of my home directory. I think it may have been connected with having just set up a new user 'guest' though not sure how. Following the instructions in the link to change ownership back solved the problem.
