The current puppy does rings around my old DamnSmallLinux,
but it is easily corrupted in memory. I've had some very malicious
attackers load the thing down till is was useless. Given enough time
Puppy often recovers...

Offline partitions mean nothing. A decent hacker can form a virtual drive
by using dd to pick off the MBR, then pick off what they wish from the
virtual directory they create. Scary stuff. Watched it being done to my
system years ago. the drive was very busy and never officially online.
