Lenovo laptop compatibility

Postby gmport » Thu Jan 30, 2014 3:53 pm

The question of laptop compatibility crops up quite regularly but models change so I feel justified in asking for advice.

My present laptop is an HP 6730s. Over the years I have installed and re-installed many flavours of Linux from Arch to Ubuntu. With this machine, I have had no hardware compatibility issues what so ever and currently Mint 16 KDE is installed.

I am now looking for a replacement for 6730s. At first I was considering another HP machine (maybe I still should?), but have heard good things about Lenovo laptops.

The model I have my eye on is the - Lenovo ThinkPad Edge E530c Intel Core i5-3230M. I would be glad to hear from anyone that uses this machine – are there any compatibility problems or other issues?
