Scripted spreadsheet update

Postby Nox » Tue Sep 10, 2013 12:37 pm

Any known way to append to a spreadsheet from a shell script?

Even if I have to use the script to run something else to do this, I just need it to happen on its own.

Ideally I'd like to take a comma deliminated file and tack it onto a shiny Libre Office Calc file.

If you mean add it to an existing file, possibly

loffice -o [filename] [script]

I guess the [script] bit because that is how I routinely opened Supercalc files in order to add data in the 80s.

If you mean a new file

loffice -o [filename] --infilter="CSV"

I guess "CSV" by analogy with other examples because I cannot find a list of all the command line filters.

Thank you!

Your info got me around to this:
https://help.libreoffice.org/Common/Sta ... Parameters

Which looks like it should get me where I want to be if its possible. It's currently tossing a Fontconfig warning, but it doesnt seem to be a fatal error.

If I get the whole thing to play nice I'll post it here.
